Shin Jung Hyun and the Men - Woman of the Evening Sun (1972 South Korea)

Woman of the Evening Sun has a lot more singing in it than the follow up. The psychedelic vibe is in full effect; this sounds like a Korean Doors band. It's more slower paced though. The second album is faster paced too and more progressive in a sense. The music is heartfelt and very nature-esque. Beautiful Rivers and Mountains definitely portrays that well. Thast a first album by that band not as good as their second It's a Lie but still good enought for not being forgotten album

Thanks to origynal ripper

@suri, yeah it's very hard to find korean music but it's out there. i'd order a lot from online but i have no understanding of korean language.

  5. actually this isn't shin jung hyun. i've seen this mistagged album floating around myspace, it's actually jang hyun and the men. if i'm not mistaken tho, the album was produced by shin jung hyun. regardless, i'm thankful to see some of that old raw korean sound posted here...

  6. Actually it IS a Shin Jung Hyun LP. He had a number of Shin Jung hyun Sound LP's for which he played guitar and wrote all the songs but hired singers. Jang Hyun is the singer for the first 4 or 5 songs on this one. It was the same for most of the Kim Jung Mi LP's. Alos the Pearl Sisters, Kim Chu Ja and more. I love this stuff.

  8. Shin Jung only produced the songs on Side 2. That is why side b has "The Men" on the label as well. I have 4 Jang Hyun lp's. There is another album that has ALL the songs from this lp (same order) except Side B has more Jang Hyun songs due to the fact they wanted to remove Shin Jung's production from that pressing of the lp. They removed the 9 minute song, and the song about weed from the alternate pressing. I have many Korean lp's. I have all the Yup Juns (all 5 on original vinyl), 5 Shin Jung solo lp's, the solo lp's by the Yup Juns members and more. If you compare the credits across the pressings of Jang Hyun this is what you'll notice.

  9. I thought side A was all sung by Jang Hyun and side B was called "The Men" because they were all different singers on that side. I do not know about producing as I do not know English, but I do know that Shin Jung Hyun wrote ALL the songs on Sides A & B. Mi Lyeon
미련 on Side A is probably his most famous song.

  10. just read the cover. in korean it says clearly: Jang Hyun and the Men. Shin Jung Hyun wrote many songs that were covered later by so many artists...too many to even mention.
